Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026 · We may update this document from time to time; the date above reflects the latest version.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Cornect (“Cornect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company based in Hong Kong, handles information in connection with the Cornect website, web application, API, and related tools (together, the “Service”). Cornect is a B2B company-search and go-to-market data platform: it lets users search and organize information about businesses.
By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account data. When you create an account — by email and password, or by signing in with Google (OAuth) through our authentication provider — we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile information (such as name and email) as permitted by the scopes you approve; we do not receive your Google password.
- Business / company data. The Service provides information about businesses, such as company names, website domains, locations, employee-count ranges, industries, technologies in use, similar companies, and related firmographic attributes. This business data is compiled from third-party data providers and publicly available sources. It describes organizations and business activity rather than private individuals.
- Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as the searches you run, saved searches, lists you create, exports you generate, and your credit usage and balance, along with standard technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, and timestamps) used for security and reliability.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Authenticate you, manage your account, workspaces, lists, saved searches, exports, and credits;
- Deliver the company-search results and data you request;
- Monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service, and prevent abuse or fraud;
- Communicate with you about your account, support requests, and material changes to the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How information is shared
We do not sell your account data. We share information only:
- With service providers. We use third-party cloud infrastructure and processing providers (for hosting, databases, authentication, search indexing, and email) that process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Cornect, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer. If Cornect is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
The sources of our business/company data are third-party data providers and publicly available sources; we do not publicly identify individual data suppliers.
Data storage and security
Data is hosted and processed using standard third-party cloud infrastructure providers. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and authentication — designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account data as described below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to access, correct, update, or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to request a copy of it. These reflect rights provided under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cornect.io. We will respond consistent with applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
International data transfers
Cornect is based in Hong Kong and uses cloud infrastructure that may process and store data in various locations. As a result, your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the one in which you reside, which may have different data- protection laws. Where required, we take steps designed to ensure such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.
Children
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
